Berliner Ensemble Expands with New Venues

Since September 2019, the Berliner Ensemble has two new venues to complete the BE quarter on Schiffbauerdamm.

The Berliner Ensemble is a renowned theater company in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1949 by Bertolt Brecht and Helene Weigel, and is one of the most important theaters in Europe.

The new venues are located in the same quarter as the Berliner Ensemble's main stage, the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm. The new venues are called the Theater im Delphi and the Probenhaus, and they will be used for smaller productions and rehearsals.

The expansion of the Berliner Ensemble is a significant development for the theater world in Berlin. The new venues will allow the Berliner Ensemble to offer a wider range of productions, and will help to strengthen the theater's position as one of the leading cultural institutions in the city.

Performances with English Surtitles

The Berliner Ensemble offers a special service for its international audience: performances with English surtitles.

Surtitles are projected translations of the dialogue that appear above the stage. This makes it possible for non-German speakers to enjoy the Berliner Ensemble's productions.

The Berliner Ensemble offers surtitles for most of its productions, including its most popular shows such as "The Threepenny Opera" and "Mother Courage and Her Children".
